Code Enforcment Office
Duties include:
Enforcement of the New York State
Uniform Fire Prevention and Building Code:
* Review building permit applications
* Review building plans
* Issue building permits
* Perform building inspections
* Issue certificates of occupancy & compliance
Fire Inspections:
* All public assembly occupancies annually
* All other business occupancies every 2-years
in the village, 3-years in the town
* Regulation of land and building uses
Enforcement of additional regulations including:
* Wetland Regulations
* Flood Plain Regulations
* Storm Water Management
* Local Laws including the "Litter Law"
Enforcement of additional regulations including:

That Require a Building Permit:
- Any new building
- Additions to existing buildings
- Structural changes or repairs
- Decks & porches (including replacement)
- Sheds & pole barns
- Fences
- Swimming pools over 24" deep
- Fireplaces & alternative fuel heating devices
- Furnace installation
- Changes in the use of a building or land
- Certain excavation work
- Electrical Work
