Planning & Zoning Board Meetings
Zoning Board meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the
second Tuesday of each month at the Town Hall.
Planning Board meetings are held at 7:00 PM on the
third Tuesday of each month at the Town Hall.

Duties include recording meeting minutes, preparing monthly meeting
agendas, assisting the public with applications, and answering
questions pertaining to Planning & Zoning projects.
The Planning Board
The Planning Board is the primary town organization responsible
for land use planning within the Town of LaFayette and for managing
that use through available regulations and ordinances. The major
functions and responsibilities of the Planning Board include
development of the master plan, oversee and approve the creation
of subdivisions and site plans per Town regulations.
The Zoning Board of Appeals
The Zoning Board of Appeals is a five person board appointed
by the Town Board. The Zoning Board of Appeals has original
jurisdiction over interpretation of the Zoning Ordinance of the
Town of LaFayette and the issuance of Special Permits in
conformance with the Ordinance. The ZBA also hears appeals
for variances of area and use in accord with section 267-B of the
Town Law. The Board of Appeals must act in strict accordance
with the procedure as specified by law and by the Town of
LaFayette Zoning Ordinance.
