Noteworthy Things About LaFayette

LaFayette offers a balance of rural, small town community with easy access to the conveniences of city and suburban living. Situated across hills and valleys, it is surrounded by fabulous views. It is also located along Route 81, with quick on-off ramps heading north (to Syracuse, Lake Ontario, Canada), and heading south (to Cortland, Binghamton, Pennsylvania). The center of town is at the
crossing of the two longest roads in the country—Route 20 and Route 11—spanning all the way from
Canada to Florida and the East Coast to the West.

While LaFayette residents feel like they are in the beautiful country, it’s a short drive to:

  • Syracuse (businesses, University, hospitals) — 12-15 minutes
  • Green Hills and Wegman’s (superior grocery shops) — 15-20 minutes
  • Hancock International Airport — 20-30 minutes
  • Lake communities Skaneateles or Cazenovia — 25-30 minutes
  • Homer/Cortland — 30 minutes
  • Ithaca — 60 minutes

An easy 4-5 hour road trip takes residents to exciting large cities: New York City, Boston, Philadelphia, Toronto, Ottawa.
